The objective: Increase brand awareness through the Atlas for Industries program, establishing MongoDB as the preferred choice for modern developers. This strategy also aims to provide industry marketers with best practices for informing tech leads about the diverse benefits and capabilities of our product.

The concept:  Running any business with MongoDB Atlas is as easy as building blocks; the tools and pathways are readily available, MongoDB simply fills in the blanks and organizes accordingly for you. This program inspires growth, efficiency, and innovation, appealing to those who value simplicity, sophistication, and forward-thinking.

Intended to sit directly under the principal MongoDB brand umbrella, the foundations of the style guide were built upon our core brand elements.

The system utilizes our primary typefaces and celebrates the main MongoDB color palette, while providing system-specific typographic guidance and color mode recommendations.

We prioritized flexibility and functionality by using simple, modular shapes to arrange content efficiently for a wide range of applications. Shape configurations can be tailored to the focal point of any asset, such as headline copy or key visuals, and are positioned according to our defined layout guidance.


To address the diverse audience of Atlas for Industries, from enterprise-level users to start-up developers, we established a creative fidelity ramp. This enables scalable designs that effectively communicate through type-forward, flexible, and bespoke layout options.

Additional bespoke program kit components were created so that the system was supportive across the entire customer journey.

Central to this are Industry Badges, a recurring visual motif which clearly identify assets as part of the Atlas for Industries program, and serve as a key building block in our modular shape system.
Industry-specific icons were also developed as an efficient way to add context to curated content, enabling industry leaders to quickly access key information.

Reserved for high-impact moments, our imaginative illustrations are aimed to be deeply integrated within each industry. Visual narratives were pulled directly from our customer success stories to tell an empathetic story through the unique lens of our brand: For every industry, MongoDB is the missing link to cater to their needs.
